About Me

Hello! My name is Ycaro, I'm from Brazil and currently living in Rio de Janeiro. I'm a law student, a language enthusiast, and someone who genuinely believes that traveling connects us in ways nothing else can.

I love meeting new people, learning about different cultures, and sharing good conversations. I speak Portuguese, English, Spanish and French, and I'm now taking my first steps in Chinise. I’m also passionate about dancing, studying cultures, and exploring cities on foot.
I consider myself open-minded, respectful, easygoing, and always grateful for the chance to learn from others. Whether it’s sharing travel stories, cooking something simple, or practicing languages together, I enjoy creating meaningful exchanges. Looking forward to meeting amazing people around the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing feels like the perfect space to connect with people who see travel the same way: not just as a trip, but as a human experience. If you host me, you can expect kindness, curiosity, and someone who takes care of the space as if it were his own. Looking forward to meeting amazing people around the world!

Interests

I'm passionate about languages, cultures, and meaningful connections. I love exploring new places, learning how people live, and sharing good conversations over coffee or music. I’m currently studying International Relations and Law, and I enjoy discussing history, politics, and cultural diversity. In my free time, I like working out, dancing, and practicing the languages I speak .Traveling for me is more than visiting places; it’s about exchanging stories, learning from others, and creating experiences that stay forever.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a pretty eclectic taste. When it comes to music, I’m usually listening to a mix of pop, R&B, world music, and anything with good vocals or a strong vibe. I love discovering new sounds from different cultures. For movies, I enjoy stories that make me think, dramas, and films with beautiful cinematography. But I’m also always up for a good comedy when I want to relax. As for books, I read a bit of everything: literature, history, philosophy, and anything related to languages and culture. I love books that expand the way I see the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I’ve done was deciding to move to a big city on my own and building a new life from scratch. It was a leap of faith that changed everything ,I grew, learned, and discovered who I really am. It taught me resilience, independence, and the beauty of trusting the journey.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love sharing parts of Brazilian culture with people.
I can teach you about samba, caipirinhas, Brazilian funk music, and a bit about the richness of Black Brazilian culture, which is a huge part of who I am. its expressions, history, and how it shapes our modern culture.
In exchange, I’m always excited to learn anything from your language to your favorite recipe, or simply how your culture views the world. I believe sharing knowledge is one of the best ways to connect.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share good conversations, positive energy, cultural exchange, playlists, stories, laughter, and meaningful connection. I love cooking simple Brazilian dishes, teaching Portuguese phrases, and showing the real Brazil beyond stereotypes. I’m respectful, clean, open-minded, and always grateful to be welcomed into someone’s home.
