I'm an accounting student at University of Wisconsin-Madison (United States), going for a master's degree. Yet, I wouldn't say that it's a complete definition of who I am;) I write poems and song lyrics in English and Russian (you can check them out on www.yelenakovalenko.com), sing, learn to play the guitar, enjoy learning new languages and doing fun sport activities (such as snowboarding, windsurfing, and skydiving). I look for new and fulfilling experiences that will contribute to my personal development and better understanding of the world around.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I plan on traveling to Europe at the end of July for a few weeks and would like to have the most local experience possible in Germany, Italy, and France.
I enjoy traveling in general and would love to see more new places and expand my network of foreign friends, since I believe we all have a lot to offer to one another!

At the age of 16, after getting my high school diploma, I went to the Czech republic (and half a year later, on to the United States) all by myself to continue my education.

I enjoy cooking and would be delighted to share some of traditional recipes from my country (Kazakhstan).
I would be delighted to share my poetry and songs, might that interest someone.
I've also come to know many traditional things about the United States (I've been here for 4 years now), Kazakhstan, and Russia - food, music and dances, places, stories.
