About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to find the most delicious cookie on the face of this earth and maybe go on a little adventure now and then.

ABOUT ME

My formal education is a undergrad degree in Economics from the University of Manitoba in Canada and I am embarking on a new adventure taking my Masters in Financial Management at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia. This is only my formal education, my real education has come from my friends and family who have taught me more about living life then any classroom will ever be able to teach me. As far as my home town I was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada but if you ask me I haven't yet found my hometown I am still searching. For most of my life I have done things the safe way and that has achieved me a certain level of comfort and success however life is for the living and if you never leave your comfort zone there is so much life that you will never experience. That is what this experience is all about getting out of my comfort zone and meeting new people and living new experiences.

PHILOSOPHY

If you are going to do something do it right. Life is meant for living, I can't claim that I have lived my life to the fullest up until now but it is never too late to make a change.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couch surfing experience was in Ljubljana with Borut and his girlfriend. They were so nice they really took the time to show me around the city and to help me get everything that I needed in place for living in Slovenia. They were so helpful and even after I found a place of my own they told me that if there were any questions to contact them and they would help me out. I can not say enough nice things about my first experience and I hope it is not my last.

Interests

Interests include:

-Running
-Cooking (I am not very good at it but I try, I have the problem of using too many flavors)
-Baking (I LOVE baked goods and sometimes the only way I can get them is to make them myself, if the way to a mans heart is though his stomach I am defiantly no exception especially when it comes to cookies they are like little circles of heaven)
-Wine (Every bottle of wine is a little gift just waiting to be opened)
-Meeting new people (I love talking to new people and making new friends, even if the people that I am meeting don't know that they want to be my friend yet)
-Experiencing new cultures
-Snowboarding (I can't claim that I am very good at it however I am hoping to change that in the next few years)
-Reading
-Going to see live music (there is nothing like going to see a great band in a dive bar, fantastic times!)
-Dancing (I can't claim that I am very good or very coordinated however I do it with heart and that has to count for something, right?)
-Watches (Seriously it is a border line obsession, I find myself constantly biding on ebay for the newest and coolest watches)
-T-shirts (Again same as the watch obsession, you can never have too many t-shirts, the cooler the graphic the more happy I am)
-Drinking tea (it is like drinking wine but with tea instead, there is not many things in life that is more satisfying then a good cup of tea)

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies, the only kind of movies that I don't care much for are horror movies (I must admit I don't like being scared but also it is the fact that someone was twisted enough to think of the idea of the movie that scares me more)

Music, I am pretty open when it comes to music and judge each band on its own merit. I have been surprised far too many times by judgments that I have made about a band without listening to them to make that mistake again.

Books, as they say you can't judge a book by its cover however my interests tend to gravitate towards Spy/action novels. I am not one of those people who can read about the same characters over and over again regardless how interesting the premise. I mean seriously how often can a character do something new and exciting and keep me interested. If any one has any suggestions of good books I am always willing to look into it.
