To connect with people and to challenge my conventional thinking on all topics. As an American my biases about the world are plenty, even though I consider myself a well-traveled person. I don't shy away from difficult topics of discussion and am open and accepting of differing points of view.

ABOUT ME

My job for the past eight years has been as an environmental engineer working on environmental treatment and remediation projects around the San Francisco Bay Area. I'm originally from Southern California, but came up to the Bay Area for school and fell in love with it (specifically Berkeley)! I'm very passionate about rock climbing, and love to practice yoga, bike around town, and drink beer. I adopted my dog (Dax) in November 2020 and have been loving having him around.

My political passions revolve around voter suppression, BIG money in politics, California water, infrastructure, and recycling issues.

"Yesterday I woke up and the sun was shining and it was nice, all that stuff. So I woke up and thought, 'Boy this is gonna be one terrific day, so you better live it up, because tomorrow you'll be nothing.'"

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I moved into my first solo living situation last year during the pandemic, and I feel that now is the right time to give back to the CS community that has helped me so much over the years. I have surfed in the past in Asia, Europe, and South America and have only had positive experiences.

Cultural exchange and an expanded understanding of all peoples will change the world for the better.

I recently did my first trad climbing route in Yosemite, it was an incredibly difficult and beautiful experience looking down at the Valley from 500+ feet up.
