About Me

I love traveling and learning new languages. I also like to draw and I aim to have some sort of drawing for every place I've been to. Some of my art can be found here: http://testofti.me/art

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I originally found out about it from a friend who was hosting some surfers in Kampala and it was evident to me that she was having a lot of fun! Afterwards, I followed suit and began couchsurfing while traveling around with a friend. We met great people and had interesting conversations everywhere we went.

Interests

- Scaling small mountains (this mostly just means I like hiking, but not the hardcore, snowy variety)
- Drawing (especially in the middle of class and with ink pen)
- Terrible karaoke singing (don't worry, I will avoid singing)
- Trying and quitting various sports. I've played several months of basketball, tennis, badminton and football (both association and American). The only sport that I really stuck to was cycling, and that was a habit slowly formed from commuting :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading and I enjoy a range of genres, from sci-fi to non-fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most bizarre thing I've seen: escargot at a Pizza Hut in Shanghai
The most bizarre thing I've eaten: caramelized mealworm (they were quite good)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can try to teach any of the languages I know. I'm also happy to share my ample supply of chocolate or any drawings I have while traveling.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I make a lot of Chinese-esque meals when I cook for myself, and I'd be happy to share that with others. They're mostly meals that I've learned from watching my parents cook, but with some slight twists that I've added myself. They're also probably fairly different from the things that show up in your typical Chinese restaurant.

Countries I’ve Lived In

China, France, Uganda, United States
