About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel, on the long journey of self discovering and finding meaningful of life.

ABOUT ME

HELLO WORLD!! My name is Yi Kang, but i always ask people to called my surname - THEO, it is easy to remember. Grew up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Sad to have a home in the city that have 7 Millions populations. Like others big city around the world - Quickly Life, Monday Blue, After Work Depression, Material Possession, Isolated and Loneliness and so many others sickness that you could found in a city.

When i'm trying to write about myself, it's too hard to explain who i am. I fancy alot thing, something new, something i doesnt know before. I love to find somewhere quiet and relax myself while have a day off. Coffee is enough, its to make my mind clear and so i might have emotion to write something. That's me, a little bit boring, for somebody.

I want to learn a better English(English's English). A few reason i think its hard for me ... not my mother tongue, learned broken one at school, different accent of speaking, lack of vocabulary, speechless when nervous ... Should all this be an excuse? I always find myself one. XD

PHILOSOPHY

We are too young yesterday, We are too old tomorrow, What about today?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I first heard about CS while planning a trip to Europe, and was a big question in my mind. 'How its going to work?'. You know what? Letting a stranger stay at home is terrifying almost all of us. Its changed until i met people sharing their experiences while i am on the road.

I met alot people who participated very well in CS. It's fantastic! You does't know anything if you dont get into the local's life. Obviously, it's much more fun and meaningful than staying in a Hostel.

If you're looking for a stay in KL, I might could host you if i am home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Its good to know different people from different field and from different places. If you choose someone have same interest like yourself, you will missing a lot. this is not what our world like. So far, all the people i met is very good, kind, and sometimes i get better than a couch.

Music, Movies, and Books

Historical book, Photography, also travel book to improve the knowledge to plan a tour itinerary. I prefer movie from Japan, like the 'Love Letter' (1995), directed by Shunji Iwai.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing thing that i have done in my life. One thing that proud me always. I did the hitch hike when i was in Sabah (Northern Borneo).

Nearly 90% people told me it is impossible do hitchhiking here in Malaysia. It is so dangerous, high risk and lots criminal cause by illegal immigrants. Also, activities of gangster are seriously increased. No one guarantee my personal safety.

Well, i did that! With a french guy 'Jim', also a CS. 2 Day, 10 Vehicles, and 400+KM. I'm still alive although It's really tiring and burned under sun. Overall, AMAZING!

Teach, Learn, Share

Having a journey since 2009. Live in different places, most of the time in Dublin. Earn money and keep travelling to learn to be a open mind person.

To become a 'BagPacker' is my childhood dream. 'It has often proved true that the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow', nothing is impossible if you really want to do something.
