About Me

Hello! Do you know the origin of the name 'Formosa'?

I’m a Taiwanese local with a deep passion for history, folk culture, and the great outdoors. I like to think of myself as an aspiring, versatile cultural ambassador. With years of experience as a guide (and still taking on private tours occasionally), I love sharing the stories that define this island.

If you’re looking to explore hidden gems, go on a cultural deep-dive, or discover local wildlife, let’s kick it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used to be a solo traveler who cherished the intimacy of a journey, both inward and outward. Now, I am learning to discover the world anew by engaging with local communities and connecting with travelers who bring diverse perspectives.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My first dive in Green Island was a descent into a dream.
90 ft below, the world dissolves into a profound silence. My breathing, the rhythmic bubbling of the regulator, becomes the only echo in the water. I begin to hear the whispers of the reef, those infinitesimal murmurs of marine life.
As the cold numbs my touch and the depths veil my sight, my senses are not so much stripped away as they are refined. It is a forced mindfulness, a mirroring of my mind.

Suddenly, a storm of Barracudas shatters the stillness. I drift beneath them. Their scales are like shimmering arpeggios, silver waves gliding through the navy dusk. Every slow motion feels a living canvas of Monet, a memory of magical realism where the water and the soul breathe as one.
