About Me
CURRENT MISSION
life is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you gonna get..
ABOUT ME
First a warning: I'm tall (=1.83 m/6 ft) and my flatmate is even taller. Why? See: http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=304226. (Just because I experienced many people get often quite shocked by this fact... so don't say I didn't warn you!)
Having said that now something about my inner self..:
I could say I'm an optimistic, open and spontaneous person. Interested in people and places around me. At the moment I'm working in a hospital, specializing in Tropical Medicine. My dream is to work for Docters Without Borders (MSF), in 2-3 years I'll be finally ready to go.
During my study I went 2 times to Africa for a couple of months. I fell in love with the continent.. The experiences in the hospitals, the people I met, crossing cultural borders, it all made a big impression on me.
From april-june 2009 I traveled through Spain, partly by couchsurfing, to learn the Spanish language but most of all to live an uncomplicated, unplanned, happy life. And I succeeded!! It changed me somewhat: I'm now less carreer-minded and more into meeting new people, enjoying every day as it comes and make the most of it.
PHILOSOPHY
Let life happen as it happens to you, don't try to controll it too much, enjoy it to the bottom and share it with the people around you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Couch surfing is a great way to meet new people in an adventurous way. Just meeting somebody somewhere in a place you've never been before, seeing a place from a local point of view and sharing special time together.
Since I'm back I try to attend CS meetings in Amsterdam and hosting people now and then.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The best way to travel alone and on the other hand to see your own city from a different point of view. Generally I love CS people, I met many soulmates due to this project.
Interests
Stories about people and places. Politics. Environmental issues. History. Cultural habits. Nature. Books which capture your soul. Films you still dream about two weeks after you have seen them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Getting very naieve on my own on the train to Russia when I was 18 years old because I wanted to see something of the world... Why did my parents just let me go like that? I´m still thankfull they did!
After I traveled on my own through Tanzania, Nigeria and Jamaica. In all of these countries I had thrilling experiences, met wonderfull people and encountered some difficulties which I somehow all survived! :)
