ABOUT ME

I have learnt to live life in the present, the past is full of teachings that have brought me to where I am now...and the future is mine to create.
I grew up on a sheep and cattle farm in Canterbury in New Zealand, did my nursing training in Invercargill in the South Island, NZ and lived most of my life in Auckland NZ. I've worked and travelled in the outback of Australia in the early 90's and finally came to live here 6 years ago, settling on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland where I have set up a private midwifery practice called Know Your Midwife.
I'm an adventurer and I love to travel. I have a 15 yr old daughter I take everywhere - what better education than to see the world and experience different cultures!! I also have a wonderful partner who also loves travel and adventure and meeting people. He's German but has lived here longer than I have. We experience a fulfilling life together.

PHILOSOPHY

Take teachings from the past, not regret, live in the present as each moment is yours never to be repeated, and know that you have the power and knowledge within to create your future as you wish it to unfold. Become one and in balance with the spirit within you and the world is yours.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to travel and meet people, stay with them and develop friendships. In return I will offer the same to anyone travelling in Australia and New Zealand, support them and offer friendship. I would like to network with CS so we can provide a safe, friendly, and supportive environment for fellow travellers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've travelled throughout USA with my daughter and experienced the most gracious of hosts and hostesses and had a wonderful, fun, safe, adventurous time. I've now hosted and number of couchsurfers - the best are those who aren't after a free trip, a free bed etc - those who really appreciate friendship and culture.

Intereses

I read...self development books,bibliographies and autobiographies, interior design and landscaping...and really good novels.
I enjoy outdoors - walking, cycling, camping, bodyboard surfing, parasailing, jetskiing, tennis, and basketball.
I love all sorts of music from Jazz ands Blues, classical, rock, to my daughter's hip hop modern stuff.
The arts are a passion also. Places with history - not so much museums - but places where historical events took place.

The most amazing event I have been priviledged to be a part of is childbirth as my role as a midwife and in having my own child.

I will teach whatever I have - life experience - childbirth, english, life coaching, cooking and gardening, interior decorating....to how to ride a bike even....
I am always learning and always willing to share.
