ABOUT ME
I have a big spectrum of emotions-usually bright and fun but appreciate being calm and depressed at the same time. I know, it might seem contradictory, but feeling various emotions is one important part of live, I think and I do. I'm full of curiosity about this world which I'm still solving. I tend to go for one ultimate goal but extensively, enjoying the pleasures of my life.
I study architecture and feel interested in urban design; it means I'm the one who likes to know all about (new) PEOPLE as well as animals. I love animals and I'm interested in their rights of life, but still considering to be vegetarian, didn't decide it yet...
PHILOSOPHY
My name in Korean 주연(周延 in Chinese) means "stretch out all over(the world, I want)" and even it's given by my parents, I love my name and its meaning. I haven't travel a lot yet and this is the first time being in other countury, Europe other than Japan where I've been quite a lot of time.
I'm on the beggining of my journey now. To reach out overseas, I want to keep learning and staying open to what I'm going to meet. And the most interesting thing for me to learn is People and their lives. Oh, also the way to heal the world and make it a better place.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
During the study-abroad program, I lived in a small apartment with other girls who were not into CS, so I couldn't host but in the close future, from late June of 2010, I'll be able to host surfers in Paris where I'm going to learn French.
Of course I'm going to travel around the Europe and it would be lovely if I can do that doing CS, meeting all other surfers in other countries.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've never done CS through this community,
but I think I've already done once in this October.
It was in Munich, Germany that I was hosted 3 nights by my middle-aged German classmate whom I met at language school in Venice. She offered me a bed, meals and even tickets for subway. I could enjoy the end of Oktoberfest thanks to her and her husband. I felt so warm in their family and house and I wanted to find someway to spread this feeling. I think I found one of the ways now, here :)

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
My favorite movies that I've ever seen;
Let the Right One In(Swedish), Le Scaphandre et Le Papillon(French), Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie(French), Before the Devil Knows You're Dead(American), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Painted Veil, Les Choristes(French), The dead poets' society, ps I love you, Truman's show, Breakfast on Pluto, While you were sleeping, The Proposal(2009), Pixar's Up(especially in Italian!) etc. The last three + Amelie': these are what I'm watching over and over.
I finally found my genre-styles! Well, from the travel in Ireland I got interested in Irish-Scottish music either traditional or contemporary, and also in some way, I reached the music from '50~'60. Just to nominate my favorite singers randomly: Damien Rice, Frank Sinatra, Fabrizio De Andre', Donovan, Michael Buble', John McLaughlin, Natalie Cole, and so on..
As for books, my favorite authors are; Paulo Coelho(strongly recommend "O Diario de um Mago"!), Oscar Wilde, 유성룡(Korean travel writer), 오영욱(Korean travel illustrator/architect),Murakami Haruki, Jostein Gaarder, Herman Hesse, and so on.. still updating
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Getting stuck in Ireland for 12 days due to the volcanic ash from Island in April 2010. How awesome! The volcano! Ireland was one of the best place to get stranded and I fully enjoyed my additional holidays there, Irish Holidays. Even if I spend extra expenses, I was quite delighted to get involved to such a big issue like it. I'm actually going back! That's how much I enjoyed and loved it!
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I want to know the difference between eastern(oriental) and western values which can be gained not only from architecture also from the culture and the people. I like learning languages and I can let you know Korean(well) and Japanese(a little!) if you want. :)
I also want to share the EXPERIENCES of others and mine to know more about the world I live in. Anything else like travel, music(I really need some guides for this!), movie, even the silly happenings!
