Overview
About Me
I am a Masters student at Northwestern University who is passionate about food, travel, and technology.
Food is my main passion and I've interned at a Michelin star restaurant in France. It was an incredibly valuable experience and I probably ate too much duck during that as well. I like to host pop up restaurants in my spare time and I had a late night fries stand during my 2nd year in college.
Whenever I get the chance, I try to travel as much as possible as I find other cultures, food, and people extremely fascinating. Solo-traveling has been incredibly rewarding as I've constantly had to put myself in uncomfortable situations. A highlight from recent backpacking trips has been hiking over 40km in Montenegro from one town to another over the national park.
My current focus is on technology and I am in a data science program. I am fascinated by the prospect of combining what I've learnt across different fields to create products to connect people improve antiquated processes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have always loved solo-traveling as I get to meet as many locals as possible. I find that it is during these interactions that I am best able to understand where I'm traveling to and understand how the locals live. I love to go about and find 'hole in the wall' places as well and that sense of adventure is one that I am looking forward to sharing with others.
I am also eager to hear about the perspectives of different people from different cultures and cities on topics that I find familiar and find that it often leads to profound discussions and different ways to look at particular problems.
Interests
Passionate about food, cooking, exploring new flavors, traveling, technology. Past experiences in finance, user experience, kitchen work etc.
Currently just trying to learn from as wide a spectrum of topics as possible. Learning to learn as they say. Trying to apply learnings from other topics and subject matters to understand what seems to be well understood.
