About Me
Hey I'm Yuedi! :)
I live in a single room in a student dorm. I can host a girl and can only offer a yoga mat. Hope you have a sleeping bag. Here is not a hostel but a chance for multicultural communication. Also showing people around in Cologne is always welcome :)
Born in China, grown up in China and now live in Cologne as an exchange student. I have great interest in Europe and its culture, which is different from that in China. So I learned English, German, and when I could have the chance to go out for exchange, I applied without any hesitate. Yes, and now I am here, in Europe. I appreciate the chance to be here, also enjoy evey moment of traveling around.
Outgoing and talkative, warm-hearted and helpful, I love to make friends with those with various cultural backgrounds and exchange our ideas about many themes. I am also a big fan of football, and dream of watching a live game someday - oh, it will soon come true~
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To be honset, I was grown up in rather traditional and conventional surroundings - all my friends were my classmates in junior or sunior high schools. I have met lots of people in my way of journey, but with most of them I've only had a short conversation. So when this platform was recommended to me, I was really surprised! Besides the beautiful view, I can also know more about the locals and the culture. Reading the porfiles, I can know more about the interests and hobbies about a person, even find friends with same interests! That's really cool!
Interests
- swimming
- calligraphy
- ping pong
- watching football
- playing the piano
- reading novels
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: When it comes to music, the classic piece is always my faovrite. Since I've learned playing the piano for more than 10 years, the masterpieces of Bach, Beethoven, Mozart...are always in my memory. I cannot play much of them, but every time I listen to it, it touches me. The modern Chinese songs are also graceful!
Movies: I really feel sorry to say that I do not have a typical teast for movies and I do not watch movies frequently either. But when the movie is adopted from my favortie books, I think I will have a try.
Books: Detective novels of course! I've read many novels of Agatha Christie and Conan Doyle, they really have amazing imagination! You cannot say it for sure until you reach the last page of it. Apart from that I also read many books about history, the opinions from different perspectives always need deeply thinking.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travel alone :)
without the help from my parents and friends, I set the plan, book the tickets and hostels, pack the luggage and begin the 2-week-trip. When I think of that experience, I really appreciate my braveness and thank the people on the way who have helped me. That's the treasure I'll never forget.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you are interessed, I can teach Chinese...but believe me, it's not easy : D
Of course when you want to teach or tell something to me or share some stories and experiences , I'd like to learn it sincerely.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook traditional Chinese dishes for you if you want to try it and if I can find the material in Supermarket.
