Hey, I'm XIAO Yuke from China, you can call me Marco. I am 21 years old and study in Germany for my master degree now. My plan is quite simple: Traveled all over China during my bachlor studies and travel all over Europe during my master studies.

As a chinese saying goes:" In order to attain wisdom, it is not enough merely to read books, you must be well-travelled as well (读万卷书，行万里路)". At first this became the most important reason to push me travel alone. But slowly I realized my greatest travelling motivation became very simple: just to looking for the beauty: nature beauty, human beauty, culture beauty,history beauty...Everytime my spirit was touched deeply when I faced those beauties. And I learn to use meditation to catch those beauties.

Couchsurfing made my travelling in Switzerland reach a new level that I never imaged before. Especially for travelers who are far away from homeland, help and advice from local could make travel perfect. And I think this is also the easiest way to find the beauty of human beauty of culture.

I'm a mountaineer, crazy about hiking and camping.

My room in Erlangen is quite small, I don't have extra beds and sofas,so you will sleep on the mat. And you could better bring your own sleeping bag, because my quilt may be too thin for you.(I'm sorry about that). I would like to show you some sights in Nuernberg and Erlangen, and we can have a nice talk at bar. So just fell free to contact me.

Finally, I am super easy going and open-minded. I do think we can have an excellent time together!

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

When I hiked in Tibet plateau, I met a foreigner backpacker in a temple. We have a good talk, and from him stories I first heard about Couchsurfing. I was attracted deeply then made up my mind, I will try it later. And after I travel cross Switzerland as a CSer, I found it's really meaningful to meet locals and connect with them in traveling.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Books: Reading is part of my life. I really enjoy reading literature. Dostoevsky and Su Shi(a literateur and poet in ancient China) are my favorite writer. I also like Kawabata Yasunari, Mishima Yukio and Maugham. I often spend the whole day in the library in my spare time.

Music: I'm good at hip-hop dance, so I listen to a lot of dance music(such as funky, jazz, electronic music, etc.). At the same time, I also like to listen to pop and rap.

Once I explored a karst cave lonely in Guizhou province(Southwest China), turning off the flashlight just to feel the pure darkness and meditated in it.

Lived in a temple in front of a snowy mountain, discussing Tibetan Buddhism with monks and believers.
