About Me
"There should be cheesy quote about traveling"
Ok, I'm Yulia, I'm Russian, who spent last year in the UK, and I don't really like "About me" sections. It's too general and I never know where to start and what others want to know about me. So here we are - just some incoherent facts.
Fact #84:
I spent my childhood in a small town in southern Russia that is surrounded by sea on three sides. So I'm a professional in staring at waves and meditating (just doing nothing).
Fact #97:
Before the British year I used to live in Moscow for 5 years and I still love this city 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week and 365 days a year. Ok, maybe 363 days a year - at least two are days of the Main Moscow derby when football fans go nuts. And it's not cool when you live close to the stadium.
Fact #132:
My friends are always scared of my phrase "I have a plan".
Fact #133:
Sometimes I can't stop my vivid imagination that leads us to the previous fact.
Fact #634:
To count these facts random numbers were taken.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Curiosity!
There're always things TripAdvisor or tour guide never tell about - how local people feel about the place they live in. It's like getting backstage of all major sightseeing and touristic spots - you can catch the atmosphere, find hidden places, avoid yelling and photographing crowd, after all.
As I explored places I lived in, I'd really like to share my experience with others to help them love those cities as much as I do.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - enjoy live performances. And maybe you can find my playlist ‘a bit’ eclectic- deep tech house, funk, hip-hop, dancehall, reggaeton, indie-rock, jazz (still can’t choose between Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby)...and Rachmaninoff (THAT’S my true love)
Movies - not really (who am I kidding), TV series - definitely yes
Books - last one was "The lazy guru’s guide to life" - the name did sound fun
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walking to the neighborhood park in the middle of the night with blankets, pillows, fairylights and wine to see the Perseid meteor shower.
Hiking in the Caucasus mountains, me and my friends climbed up on the rock in the middle of the night (so we got dressing down from our group leader next morning) to see the sky full of stars. It seemed to be so close and so peaceful it was totally worth all the cuts and bruises we got on our way back.
