About Me

¡Hola! I'm Yumi. I am a wannabe world explorer, hiker, personal trainer, tea enthusiast, bookworm, amateur photographer, animal lover, food eater, & so much more. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy getting to know individuals, hearing about their lives, and building lasting relationships. We are all human, and though some may be more misunderstood than others, I like to try to understand why people the way they are because I believe we are all one and the same.

I am intrigued by how various cultures throughout the world shape us to be who we are, often distinguishing us from our neighbor. I love traveling because I love learning about people and culture. I think that the best way to get to know a local is through Couchsurfing. I feel so blessed to be living in a generation that allows us to travel this way so that we can start to truly understand each other no matter where we are from.

Interests

Aside from traveling, I enjoy weight lifting, hiking, rock climbing, camping, and basically anything else that will get me outside!

I feel like I have many other interests but you'll just have to get to know me and ask! :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In March, 2015, my boyfriend and I decided to canoe the 30km Serpentine River in Surrey which was an amazing experience in itself but then 5 hours later, when we reached Mud Bay (the end of the river opening up into the ocean), we didn't account for the low tide which meant we had to drag the canoe across muddy quicksand. Long story short, if I didn't regularly work out, I would've been a goner. Looking back, I definitely see it as one of the highlights of my life though.
