Hi, I’m Yuri:) I’m Japanese and now working as a teacher in Bordeaux, France. I speak English, French, Japanese and a little bit of Spanish. Curious to know other cultures and open to connecting with people from all over the world. For me, respecting others is one of the most important things:) I’m a clean person so I’ll be careful to use everything as I would do at my own house.
I live with a roommate so I know how to arrange things at home (like when to use bathroom, kitchen, etc).
My no.1 strength (by Gullup’s strength finder) was responsibility (just fyi haha). And I’m kind of a sensitive person so I always think about others (sometime it’s too much, but I’m trying to work on it !). I’ll be as respectful as possible at your place.

One of the mottos I live by is that you treat others as you would like to be treated because everyone is fighting a battle you don’t know anything about.

I don’t smoke, I don’t drink, I don’t eat meat and I don’t do drugs😂 now I remembered once my collègue found that out he asked me, "then what do you do for fun ?" with a genuine curiosity…
I strongly believe there’s so many things that bring us pure joy in our daily lives. I like watching flowers or river just walking. Or when an old lady speaks to me while I’m knitting in a park, I feel this warm nice feelings in my heart🌿

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To exchange. I like having a meaningful conversation with a few people better than going to a party of 30 people. And Couchsurfing can be a great way to find likeminded people to exchange our experiences in my opinion.

Dancing is my passion ! especially I LOVE kizomba. Kizomba is LIFE (seriously!). Other than that, I like Afrobeats, salsa, bachata, too. knitting, being in nature, taking photos, going to museums, cooking…and the list goes on !

One recent amazing thing I’ve done is deciding to quit the corporate job in Japan and finding a job in France finally to move all the way here.

I can make Japanese food even with the ingredients I can find in your country (or I can bring some as long as my cheap flight allows me). I can teach you about Japanese culture/language. Dancing, knitting or we can talk about personal development because I’ve had so much growth on my mental health since I started to talk to a counselor :)
