About Me

Hello people! My name is Yves, I am a 29 year old man and like you all I love to travel. I am currently living in Peru, Arequipa where I work for an NGO called HOOP. I speak English, Spanish, French and German. I enjoy learning languages, reading, playing piano and traveling. I also enjoy playing football. I am going to carry on traveling in South America and therefore I am seeking nice hosts. You are welcome to visit me in Peru anytime and in other place where I will be leaving in the future, anytime!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As many I am trying to make the best of my travels and being able to meet up with local is definitely the best experience. I have been traveling for about 10 years now and now that I am based in South America, in Peru, I want to explore the different countries around.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all kind of music really. I particularly enjoy rock and drum & bass. I am also a big fan of Hip Hop and electro , so yeah really anything. I enjoy classical music as I have been playing classical piano for 10 years. In terms of movies, my favorite movies are the Godfather and the Shindler's list. I enjoy historical movies a lot. My favorite book is "Flash" by Charles Duchaussois and "On the Road" from Jack Kerouac. I am currently reading "Las venas abiertas de América Latina". Finally I enjoy reading classics from time to time, I am re-reading " La Dame aux Camelias" d'Alexandre Dumas.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not sure if this is incredible, but I have met Denis Carter, 74 years old cab driver, born and raised in San Francisco and we met in a bar in SF. We were talking about traveling and various stuff about our respectives countries and it turned out that this guys actually knew Jack Kerouac, my favorite author.

I have lived in the US, Australia, Germany, the UK, Spain and Peru where I am now working for an NGO where we our mission is our mission is to empower disadvantaged children and their families. We are a non-governmental organisation working in partnership with the community to create a lasting impact by providing free education, social and health programs.
