About Me

My name's Yvette and I'm a 27 year old student doula and aspiring midwife. I’ve traveled all over the world since I was a small child with my mom - we have hosted and stayed with many Couchsurfers since I was little so I have always been exposed to community based travel - what a blessing!
I’m passionate about women’s health, living in tune with nature’s rhythms, and simplicity. I'm inspired by the mountains, working with my hands, being exposed to things I know nothing about, and connecting with new people who are totally different from me. I am optimistic, energetic, and humorous with a lighthearted disposition about life.
I grew up in northern Florida, studied for 7 years in Boston, left my corporate life behind to chase mountains in the Colorado Rockies, and am now heading up to Missoula to be near family and prepare for midwifery school. I have traveled and lived all over the world including East Asia, Europe, and the American West.
I am clean, communicative, and mindful. I’m accepting of all types of people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I deeply believe in humanity and the power of people supporting people, connections that cross identities and boundaries, and traveling affordably. We need to keep humanity alive, especially in today’s world!

Interests

I like the outdoors, staying active, holistic health, being immersed with nature, esoteric topics like mindfulness and meditation and self growth in that sense. I also love standup and good music and just having a silly time on a camping trip.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love indie rock music and honestly really have been loving country music lately. I love the Hayao Miyazaki films like Naussica in the Valley of the Wing and Princess Monanoke. Also a big fan of Tarentino films especially Inglorious Bastards and Kill Bill.
Book I’m reading right now is the classic little story of The Alchemist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've backpacked the Cirques of Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean. I spent a month solo traveling through Thailand and Cambodia. Trekked 40 miles in Chilean Patagonia at the tip of the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could always help you with your French! Grew up speaking french and am quite fluent.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m easy going and am a good conversationalist. I can cook you a nice meal from scratch and keep your space clean, and I always have a good ambiance about me with the music I like and the way I eat and inhabit a space. Happy to share good energy, positive conversation, and enjoying food and nature together.

I have no problem sharing bathroom, kitchen and living spaces. I can sleep anywhere and take short showers and am a very clean person.
