Hey guys,
My name is Yvonne, and I am a 30-year old travel-junkie. When I was only 3 years old, my parents already took me to Canada and opened up the whole world to me. I enjoy meeting new people and getting to know different cultures. I live together with my husband in the Netherlands and I work at a company that makes playground equipment. My hobbies are singing (mostly under the shower these days), music in general, playing cello, reading, my friends and family, movies.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have carried around the wish to take a sabbatical and go travelling around with me for quite a while, but I somehow seem to have missed the opportunity to actually go do it. Until now! Starting September 5th this year, I am travelling to several countries by myself, leaving my lovely and understanding husband at home. My destinations are: France, Russia, Jordan, Nepal and Tasmania.
To keep my budget low and to get the best experience of the various cultures, I am looking forward to staying at your place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving, which I did just last April, together with my husband. Obviously not tandem with him, otherwise I would not be able to write this anymore. ;-)
It was such a fantastic feeling, detached from everything, feeling the rush, the free fall. I can just recommend it to everybody!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn more about the destinations I am visiting. Not only visiting important sights and follwing the beaten path, but getting to know people and their view of the world. I think travelling helps us all understand one another better and maybe helps making this world a better place. Also I want to bring my experiences back home with me and share them with my family and friends.
