ABOUT ME

An impulsive, vegetarian nomad happy to follow my (usually bare) feet before the arthritis settles in...^^;

MY PHILOSOPHY:

I believe that some cautious hedonism makes for one of the best slippery slopes of all time; freedom to explore is my main priority right now. :D At the same time, I want to contribute to the world in any way I can...to create beautiful things, be it a work of art or an incredible memory. To pass on any of the wonderfulness that happens to meander into my own life. To just smile. :) A LOT. ♡

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I had my first couchsurfing experiences while on the Trans-Siberian route through Russia last fall, and have been looking to start hosting ever since. :D I never seem to really have a homebase to host from, but I'm looking to give back to the community that way once I do settle down a little.

I think the local experience is definitely the way to go, and that couchsurfing helps to set travellers apart from tourists.

Interessen

Fire spinning, dance, travel (so far, the solo kind), kitesurfing (super novice, ouch), amateur-yet-passionate cooking, chess, poi, crafting, origami, people-watching, eating, videogames (despite an astounding lack of skill), packing for adventures. Hitchhiking's the newest addition after my maiden voyage this fall. ;)

...all the while frolicking. :D

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I'll watch, read, or listen to almost anything at least once. :D That being said...

Bands: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty, Steve Miller Band, Rolling Stones, Queens of the Stone Age, Audioslave, Blue Oyster Cult, etc.

Movies: I really don't watch that many movies...but that doesn't mean I don't like them. I watched Lord of the Rings for the first time last year, and I still can't believe how awesome it was. Still a little speechless. I'm a bit slow to jump on the bandwagon, but I guess it's better late than never. :D

Books: The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. But only if you enjoy a ridiculous number of main characters and plot points, and fantasy is your cup of tea.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Backpacked in Russia while travelling by myself for the first time last autumn. :) Everything since then has been pretty much one giant, rolling good time...the details are best discussed in person over a beer (or seven). :)

Lehren, lernen, teilen

To teach...welll...anything I have to offer that you think is even remotely interesting. :D So pretty much anything from my list of hobbies is fair game. I'm interested in learning anything I don't know yet (...which is A LOT), so impress me with your wisdom, fun facts, or crazy skills; I'm easily amazed, so no worries there. :)

And to share? Everything and anything we can.

Optimism, origami thank-you notes, gratitude, a meal, doing those menial household tasks you hate...? ^^; Anything. Depends on the host, doesn't it?
