I took a year off from my teaching job to teach in Abu Dhabi. My family spent 3 months in UAE and 3 months in Thailand. Now, we are looking forward to spending time in Europe before heading back to the USA. We are a family of 5 our children are 12, 10 and 7 years old. The kids are home schooling - or I like to call it "world schooling".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are on a tight budget to see the world. As a family of 5, food and lodging can be expensive in other countries. So, we are looking for new ways to make the trip fun without over spending and to meet new people. New people can give us new perspectives on our lives and for the children it can teach them some deeper love and compassion for different cultures. As we travel we are looking for authentic experiences, not tourist traps. Seeing a new place as "home" through a locals eyes is our goal.

Teach, Learn, Share

Art is my life's purpose and passion. My husband and I are both glassblowers and we have now blown glass in a few places around the world. We also paint and draw and throw pottery. As a teacher I love to share what I know and to learn new things. I have a lifelong passion and thirst for knowledge.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We are happy to teach our host English, or painting or just hang out and play some card games. We are looking forward to making new friends and hope that someday you will come to the USA and stay with us.
