About Me

CURRENT MISSION

We are on our own path. It can be confusing, but usually beautiful. We don't want the path to end but just keep us growing and changing and connecting with those whose paths cross us.

ABOUT ME

Zach is a Peace Corps volunteer teaching English at a local high school here in Sibiu. He has been in Romania for around two years and can do most traditional Romanian dances. He fancies himself a creative soul and enjoys reading, writing, drawing, and watching movies.

Miha is a freelancer who offers her skills and love to all that require them. Her specialty is alternative education and both teaches and trains in the field. She also enjoys good conversations, creative projects, and Zachary.

PHILOSOPHY

With an open mind, anything is possible. Nobody is perfect but you have a life time to change if you want. Reality is made up of everyone's own perspectives and it's a beautiful thing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have the traveling itch and want to see the world. Likewise, we know meeting people from other worlds is a great way to open the mind. We want to open our home to those who like a good time, want to share a moment, and need a cheap place to stay. Hopefully, we want to find those with a similar mindset to help us when we are abroad.

Interests

We are big fans of the great outdoors, and enjoy traveling through it by hiking and bicycling. We are also big homebodies and enjoy the comforts of a happy house. Spiritual conversations, arts and crafts, film screenings, and ethnic cooking are some of our more regular features.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Harold and Maude, The Birdcage, Network, American Beauty, Eraserhead, Short Cuts, The Shinning, Ghostbusters...

Music: Otis Redding, Prince, Cat Stevens, Bowie, Marvin Gaye, Talking Heads, Joni Mitchell...

Books: The Power of Now, Anna Karenina, Siddhatha by Hesse, To Kill a Mockingbird, Noaptea de Sanziene by Mircea Eliade...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We have hitchhiked through most of Romania, including the Carpathian Mountains, the painted monasteries of Moldova, and the Danube Delta, with nothing but a tent, our wits, and salami.

Teach, Learn, Share

Zach is fairly well versed in English literature and film. He also can teach you how to doodle cartoon animals if you are so inclined.

Miha is the Q of AE (the Queen of Alternative Education). She can tell you the philosophies and how we can improve the system. She is also always open to learning more about it, especially if you want to collaborate.
