My name is Zach and I'm from the great state of Utah! The real Wild West, perched high in the Rocky Mountains, spanning the vast, rugged terrain of the Colorado Plateau. Hawaii is my new home and one of the most beautiful places on earth. The mountains, rainforests, waterfalls and waves of the ocean speak to my soul. Above all, I enjoy the peace, serenity and solitude found in nature. I also find joy in camping, sitting next to a fire, talking story and cooking new and different flavors of cuisine. I’m an enthusiast, a traveler, a sailor and a craftsman. There are very few things that I am afraid of. I consider myself to be quite adventurous and spontaneous. I encourage everyone to travel and open their minds! I do not drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes and I try my best to eat healthy and responsibly. If you like reggae music, playing chess, hiking mountains, river rafting or sipping tea next to a fire, we will get along very well!

When I first traveled alone halfway around the world to Australia with no plan, I met a stranger my first day who took me in, shared his food and taught me many valuable life lessons. Ever since then, I began Couchsurfing when I travel because I don't want to have ordinary experiences. I want to stay with locals, eat authentic meals, laugh about our differences and learn another language. I want to be free with myself and others while enjoying each others company, because that is where the best stories come from!

I'm generally pretty particular about my music interests. I love reggae, indie, alternative, multi-cultural and surf rock the most, but I'm always open to sampling new musical interests. Occasionally, I've stayed with hosts who were very talented musicians and listened to them play in front of their guests, which is always a good time!

My favorite movies are mostly adventure, drama and historical films such as Master and Commander, The Last of the Mohicans, The Gladiator and Western movies, which I grew up watching. My all time favorites are The Count of Monte Christo, Into the Wild, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Snatch!

I do enjoy reading every night before I go to sleep. Travel, adventure and world history are my go to genres. Although I will read about spiritualism and thought evoking novels on the nature of reality. I have a variety of books here for your enjoyment as a guest.

I attended a feast at the Royal Palace of Brunei and met the Sultan and his family while I was staying with my first couch surfing host!

I can teach many different skills, jewelry making, oil painting, cooking, and history. I am eager to learn and acquire as many new skills as possible. Learning French and Spanish fluently are both high on my list.
