CURRENT MISSION

I am on a mission to help researchers study frogs in Guyana and Brazil, explore my roots in Scandinavia, and eat all the food.

ABOUT ME

I strive to be an open and "real" person. I am very passionate about the natural world, especially reptiles and amphibians. I like to volunteer when I travel, and I am always interested in learning new skills. In the Fall of 2017 I will start my Master's of Biology back in the US.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In my line of work there is always down time between jobs, which means I need a safe place to crash for a while. I think meeting new and interesting people is a great way to spend this time.

Interests

I love spending time in the outdoors, whether it be sitting by a quiet stream, going for an easy hike, or taking an arduous backpacking trip. I am also very into watching and playing sports, especially basketball. That being said, I am perfectly content with spending the day relaxing and reading or sight-seeing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have recently been on a Latin pop kick. Strangely, I also love the Kurt Wallander crime drama book series. Comedies and documentaries are my favorites, but good dramas are fun too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I rode a jetski on the ocean at the point where the Great Wall of China meets the Pacific.

In 2014 I went on a 5 month backpacking trip in South America! I was fortunate enough to spend time volunteering for amphibian researchers (and a coffee farm) in the Andes, Amazon, and cloud forest across Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia. I have many stories and memories from this trip - too many to pick one to mention in this profile.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My knowledge of sports, travel, wildlife, and all things geography. I'm also good at cooking, or at least helping cook stuff.
