About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Trying to improve our understanding of climate variability and global warming/climate change.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to enjoy life, and use my energy to contribute to making the world a better place. These days that means spending a lot of my time on my science. I got into the study of the Earth because it was both intellectually engaging and it got me outside and I've been able to live in many different parts of the world through my work. These days the questions I am interested keep me in Berkeley most of the time and so I have to find other excuses to travel.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've spent a good chunk of my life traveling. I love to see beautiful places, but meeting new people is what I find most rewarding about traveling. I suspect if more Americans had friends in other countries we wouldn't get into so many wars. I have not used "couchsurfing.com" before, but everywhere I've visited and lived I've found myself visiting or living with local people and I've tried to always make my home available for visitors.
