About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to figure out my mission

ABOUT ME

I work as a barista in one the of the best cafes in Riga, and I love my job. Coffee is my love at the moment, and I want to learn more and get more passionate about it.
And I love travelling. But lately I've been too much enjoying comfort, so I'm down to my yearly vacations, but I make those pretty grand and awsome.
Next stop: Seattle, Portland, London.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I try to host people whenever possible, but at the moment I don't have much extra space for it, I really need to buy a coach.
And I surf couches whenever I´m travelling.
I'm not that much into meeting up with couchsurfers and going to events, I'm the old school couchsurfer, I think when you open your house for somebody, that's where the real friendships and culture exchange take place.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started long ago with hosting some people from Hospitality Club. And started to surf the couches when I studied in Portugal. I have also experienced some really nice hospitality from the people I have met during my travels in New Zealand which was not CS related.
I really enjoy hosting people. And being the guest is great. People have been so nice to me, I don´t know how to thank them enough.

Interests

Traveling of course, probably as everybody else here. Once you start doing it, you're stuck for life.
Everything coffee related.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies. My all time favourites are Lost in Translation and Good Will Hunting, those I can watch over and over again, it's more a nostalgic thing.
But there are loads of good films out there, trying to catch up on them. And lately been quite into British comedy, Mighty Boosh, IT Crowd, Peep Show..

Music. All kinda. Indie mostly I suppose. But I've never been good at describing it or remembering artists and stuff. But I´m always happy to update my iPod, if somebody has something nice. And yeah, I'm old school, I still have an iPod.

Books. I love books! I'm just not a big reader. I always buy new books, but most of them (majority unread, but planned to be read in the near future) are piled up by my bed. But I have an impressive bookshelf.
My biggest achievement in reading was the Lord of the Rings!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing places I have seen are New Zealand and Azores islands. It is so beautiful there. Breathtaking views. I think after visiting these places I turned into nature lover.

Amazing thing I have done - bungee jumping from 134 m height. It's freakin' high! That was crazy!

And Erasmus in Portugal, of course. Being Erasmus student is the best life you can imagine. You don't have to worry about anything, you just sleep long hours, party all the time, travel around, and study a little bit ;). That was great.

And becoming a barista. That is a wonderful job. And there's so much to know about coffee, never gets boring.
