About Me

CURRENT MISSION

changing myself into a person that can change the world

ABOUT ME

I think I am, above all, an honest person. It seems like most people go through life living as if they are the person they want to be, rather than who they are. In reality, no one can live up to the standard they expect, either for themselves or others. To me, it is a tragedy when people realize that not only have they been presenting an image of him/herself, but that the image is all there is. Not only is it disingenuous, but it creates pain for those in their proximity: they, too, want to believe that the ideal is real, and are bound to be disappointed when they find that it is only a facade.

But maybe I just want to be honest... I hope I am.

PHILOSOPHY

It would be way more interesting to talk about this than to write about it :) Basically I try to live a balanced life, and little by little bring more sanity to an insanely imbalanced world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I mostly take from the system. As soon as I get my own place I'll definitely be offering my couch. Still, I love meeting new people even if I can't host them!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Two great experiences: one in Croatia, with a lovely couple that lived in the suburbs of Zagreb. When we arrived it was the boyfriend's birthday party, and we were invited to join right in! They were extremely generous, allowing us to stay another night and taking us to the train station. The other in Puerto Montt, Chile, with an awesome host :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is very hard to imagine if you've never stepped on a longboard skateboard before. Going 30mph down a curvy hill lit only by moonlight on a cold night, not because of the adrenaline rush but because of the calm. Really remarkable experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have learned that trust always triumphs fear. Yes, it is scary and perhaps dangerous to trust people we do not know, but it is much more dangerous to live your entire life in fear.
