Describing yourself is always weird, but people I’ve met while traveling have often described me as “curious” and “enthusiastic.”

I appreciate genuine conversation above all else (sharing experiences, perceptions, ideas) or taking part in cultural experiences wherever we are. Sometimes known to ask piercing questions. 👀 I’m most curious about art, history, culture, and social issues in the places that I’m visiting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My favorite thing about solo travel — especially solo travel — is the people that you meet. CS helps me do that while I’m traveling, and introduces me to people who remind me of the travel high when I’m home.

MUSIC
I love African / African-inspired music the most: Amapiano, Afro-pop, Afrobeats.

MOVIES/TV
I’ll be honest, I don’t watch movies much and can’t really tell you my favorite. When it comes to TV I love relatable comedies, like Community, Arrested Development, Abbott Elementary.

BOOKS
I’m a voracious reader; for classical literature I love Eastern European authors, and for modern fiction I read a lot of Black & African authors (one of my favorite books ever is Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi). A lot of the nonfiction books I read are about Buddhism, neuroscience, or are biographies of people I admire. Always looking for a good book to read - would love to swap suggestions. I have a long list of recommendations to share!
