Overview
About Me
Colleen (http://www.couchsurfing.com/people/tofutticutie123) and I just moved to Philadelphia from Portland, Oregon. It's a change for sure, but we're finding our way around. Me, I play poker, constantly think about what my next meal is going to be, and how to teach my dog to behave. I'm vegan and I'm not sure what else you need to know about me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My partner and I just moved here and are still learning the city ourselves. Seeing it through the fresh set of eyes of all you world travelers remind me to get out and explore the city rather than get caught up in the grind of the day to day. Besides, maybe I'll come your way one of these days and would love to stay with you! Hopefully we'll be able to answer some of the questions you'll have about Philadelphia, like where the good vegan food is and where you can buy a beer which is surprisingly hard to do in this city.

Music, Movies, and Books
I grew up listening to a lot of DC punk and hardcore, my music choices still reflect that. I'm really liking anything Nick Cave related right now. Or maybe I'm just saying that because that's what is currently playing.
As for books, I'll try to read anything that has been recommended. Some favorites are A Confederacy of Dunces, Ender's game series, the George RR Martin series.
I love horror movies, from the cheesy funny kind to the weirdo Japanese ones to psychological to splatter fests. I can sit through almost anything though.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I play a game to make a living. No matter how stressful it gets, I have to keep reminding myself how lucky I am for that.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach almost anyone a thing or two about poker. Pretend you're interested for even a second and you might have trouble getting me to shut up. Uhh... I know a thing or two about ping pong, doing taxes, Greek and Roman culture. I'm sure there's more. I love learning about anything. I've always felt that I have no artistic talent and one of these days I'd like to be proven wrong.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Hopefully something on this profile that sparked your interest. If not, then at least I can offer my eternal gratitude and a reciprocal invitation to stay at my place.
