About Me

CURRENT MISSION

wandering, seeing, learning, meeting, understanding

ABOUT ME

I love the ocean and being outside. Been traveling ever since I could remember. I'm a book addict, always have one stashed in my bag. I actually quilt quite a bit when I'm trapped indoors (nouveau quilts, they don't look like the things your grandma used to make...well, that is, unless your grandmother was inspired by the cubists). Spent my childhood running around jungles and snorkeling then was locked away in college for four years. Just graduated and I plan on going back to doing what I love to do. Working on grad school applications, but in the mean time going to hit up some old stomping ground.

PHILOSOPHY

Figure out what you want, figure out how to get it, and go, but remember that just because you can have something doesn't necessarily mean that you should.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would offer my couch, but I'll be mobile for the next 6 months. I am looking forward to meeting some CS's on my travels!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

....I got none. Just starting, but I have quite a few friends that have done it and loved it, so now they host. They really enjoy the experience. They always have such great things to say about their experiences, whether it be hosting or being hosted.

Interests

scuba, horseback riding (hunt seat), snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, reading, making things, yoga, painting, biking, economics, different cultures, languages, field hockey, plants, I find people to be rather fascinating as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Elegance of the Porcupine, Pride and Prejudice, Michael Crichton, Orson Scott Card: I tend to stick with sci fi and business/economic books...but I'll read anything that's lying around. When it comes to music I have a soft spot for jazz, French rap, and the Script. Movies....uyyy, that depends entirely on my mood, though old back and white mysteries are always a favorite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

hmmm
When I was 11 I was in Jakarta when the Indonesian market crashed and all hell broke loose. Never going to forget that experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

The description for what to put in this box is a little intimidating.
On that note, my piece of wisdom. If you're scared (or intimidated), sometimes it's best to stop listening to yourself and do it anyways.
(I emphasize "sometimes")
