About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Wishing to reconnect with the south coast of England, with scenes and smells from my childhood. Attempting to choose an area for a longer family stay. Need short term accomodation and advice

ABOUT ME

I would describe myself briefly as quiet spoken (compared with Americans I live with) fun and adventure loving, caring and ethical, who really enjoys interacting with people and doesn't take myself too seriously.

A child of the sixties, I grew up in London, one of three children, and was involved in some of the political and social movements of the time. A student at Bristol University, I lived briefly in London and then left in 1973 for the States. The rest of my family all left for different parts of the world (Israel, US) around the same time. I worked for a public interest group in Washington and played football with women's teams reaching the Nationals six times. and winning teh title four times. When I moved out to Idaho I got married and have a step daughter who is 21.

My family (brother sister) are all semi retired now and increasingly feeling the pull to come home to England. I am exploring the possiblility of resestablishing a family base in England so that all members, friends and others can use it. I am mainly looking in the south of England because of past family associations. When I was five, my family lived on a houseboat in Shoreham for six months and visited the south coast many weekends in the summer. I have few current connections, however, and would love to get to know some people in the area and get advice on good locations. as well as have places to stay. Coachsurfing seems ideal for this purpose.

More about me now...I love all sports but particularly hiking, biking and tennis these days. In Idaho we also go skiing and rafting and do lots of camping. I love the outdoors. I am married to an Idahoan but he won't be traveling with me this time. He is looking after our cats as well as pursuing his interests in the snow.

PHILOSOPHY

I have lived most of my life for myself, making a living, travelling, enjoying my professional life, enjoying the outdoors and playing competitive sports. Increasingly I want to give back to others through caring and helping and pursuing a more nurturing life through yoga, music, nature and helping others as well as pursuing my other interests. I also like a good laugh!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Non yet with coachsurfing, but lots of informal experiences going back many years. Biking through France and sleeping one night on a boat on the river Loire, because the graciousness of two boatmen, is one of my favorites.
