Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love everything from hip hop to bluegrass, reggae, folk, cumbia, neo soul, R&B, kirtan.

Movies: I'm not a big fan of movies but I love a good documentary and some foreign and indie films. Two favorites are Kirikou and the Sorceress and City of God

Books: I'm a huge fan of Toni Morrison, Alice Walker and Arundhati Roy

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

What an amazing thing it is to be alive! :)
I turned 19 on a magical 18 hour train ride through the Indian countryside and then spent Diwali (new year/festival of lights) in Varanasi, one of the holiest cities in India. For weeks the nights were filled with fireworks, oil lanterns, pujas and celebrations on the river Ganga. It was truly a beautiful experience to be part of it all.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach crochet, sewing, other fiber arts, gardening/sustainable living skills and love to do English/Spanish language exchange

I love to learn about indigenous cultures and the ways that different cultures relate to the land and to food. I'd love to improve my Spanish and one of my dreams is to learn to weave!
