CURRENT MISSION
Re-learn Russian grammar, go to Russia
ABOUT ME
I love music, reading and writing, traveling, bikes, etc. Would love to meet other people into punk, hardcore, metal, screamo, some types of acoustic, noise, etc etc etc music. I play in several bands and live at a house that puts on shows. I'm reading or writing something pretty much all the time and love to talk about books and ideas. I am involved with activist groups such as Food not Bombs and the Knoxville Bike Collective.
PHILOSOPHY
The Tao that can be spoken is not the true Tao.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've traveled a bit in my life in various capacities, especially with little or no money and have always appreciated being able to find a place to stay. I think having even a loose network of places to stay and people to meet is extremely helpful both practically by allowing people to be able to travel without a lot of money, and inter-personally by establishing contacts and hopefully friendships among people who otherwise never would have met. We're far too alienated from and indifferent too each other in this society, and I think traveling and hosting other travelers can help remedy that.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've yet to do any couch surfing affiliated with this organization, but I have traveled a bit using Greyhound, my bike, trains, my thumb and the best thing I've taken away from all of that is having been able to never stay in a hotel. For the most part everyone I've crashed with has been awesome. Some highlights include a huge artist collective in a renovated warehouse in San Francisco and a 13 bedroom squatted punk house in Buffalo.
