Zih Ang, is my giving name, my parents gave me that cuz I'm a priceless kid. If you find it hard to pronounce, I'll also respond to the name, Merlin, which I gave it to myself since I started my new life in London. 我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I started to host when I was in college, around 2011, I didn't really know about "Couch surfing " back at that time. One day, I met a Greek guy on ICQ chat room (ICQ is a cross-platform instant messaging and VoIP client), we chat awhile and he mentioned that he was going to travel around Asia, since we became friends, so I convinced him to make Taiwan into his list, and I would be very horner to host him. I hosted him for a couple of days, I am glad that I was able to help him and my family are very supported. After going back to Greece he found himself missed Taiwan so much that he decided to come to Taiwan again, not just for a short visit but living in Taiwan for good!! My family and I were very happy to know that he was coming back. When he came back, he found a flat nearby and we gave him a helping hand to get a job as a professor assistant. He spent a few years in Taiwan and having a great time. Though he later moved to Korea for his work but he really loves Taiwan a lot.
You never know a simple decision can make someone's life so different. I was only offering him a few days visit but it later turns his life into to a very different pace. I think this is exactly why I'm on couch surfing.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I have spent 11 days traveling around Taiwan by hitchhike in summer of 2014. Since I didn't know where exactly I would end up for each day, so I didn't make any plan for accomodation, which had make the whole journey epic!! Except for 2 nights that I spent in the McDonald's, I crash into total strangers' for the other 8 nights. Without any contact in advance, they were all drivers who gave me a ride or just someone I met randomly.
