About Me

ABOUT ME

I’m a blend of two worlds: born and raised in Mashhad, Iran, but shaped by over a decade of living in Japan. I moved to Japan in 2006 to pursue my studies and earned my Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in September 2018.

Currently, I am an Artificial Intelligence researcher for a Japanese company. Since I work remotely, I spend most of my time back in Iran, enjoying the best of both cultures. My academic roots are in medical AI—specifically using brain waves to detect epileptic seizures—but these days, my professional work focuses on Natural Language Processing (NLP).

I really enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories. I’m always happy to share my experiences from both Iran and Japan, or just have a great chat about life over a cup of tea.

PHILOSOPHY

Keep smiling and stay positive. Life is far too short for complaints; I prefer to focus on the beauty of the moment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined Couchsurfing on the recommendation of one of my best friends, Morteza (you can find him in my friends list). After hearing his stories, I was inspired to join this community to meet travelers from around the world and share my own culture and experiences.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I think it’s an amazing project. I love the idea of building global connections and am excited to start my journey here as both a guest and a host.

Interests

I am deeply passionate about my research in AI and the endless possibilities of technology. When I’m not working, I love watching films, listening to Iranian traditional music, and meeting new people from different walks of life. I have a big heart for traveling—I enjoy exploring the world and the excitement of discovering new cultures and traditions.
