About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To step on as much earth as possible before I leave this earth

ABOUT ME

Im a simple guy that sees the world as one big playground waiting to be explored by the whim of my two feet. I live for the moment and is always game to try new things and experiences. I love meeting people, especially those from a different cultural and ethnic background, by the words of Mark Twain, I believe travelling is the best poison to narrow mindedness and I am determined to let my experiences on the road shape my character and to come to defining myself in life one day. So smile!! while we all still have teeth!

Right now I am on my 1 year hiatus from my work as a dentist and I have dedicated this year to know more about myself spiritually and also experience the world through my own perspective through volunteering work and travelling:

PHILOSOPHY

Traveling is indeed fatal to narrow mindedness, everything has to at least be try once, and every one has their part to make the world a better place.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Stumbled across the website sometime ago, was very intrigued and impressed by the concept, why didnt i found out about this sooner! And ever since then I cant wait to start meeting people all over the world via CS!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was hosted by various people around SE Asia, Japan and New Zealand where total strangers opened up their home and welcome me into their lives even just for a little while has made a positive impact in me and allow me to see there is good all around the world. I hope to pay it forward and have been returning the favour to other couchsurfers who have come my way.

Interests

Anyone of these will be enough to catch my short spanned attention:food, fishing, combat fighting, food, weight lifting, all kinds of movies, did i mention food? Always keen for a chat involving life, faith, culture, conspiracy theories or just bantering on about trivial things in life! I have bungy jumped in Queenstown, sky dived off the top of Wanaka, white water rafting in Rotorua, conquered the highest peak of Malaysia, scuba dived in Keri Keri and dirtbiked along the temples of Cambodia, these are all wonderful experiences that I will treasure for the rest of my lives and am looking forward to make new ones!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I am a big fan of films and have watched quite a bit over my lifetime. I would say the recurring favourite genres would be thriller, drama, war, documentaries and film festival picks.

Music: Avid listener of jazz, blues, bossa nova and most genres but still trying to warm up to heavy metal and old school country, maybe one day..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bungee jumped off a 100 metre cliff, except I was strapped to a chair which was connected to the bungee cord and I was blindfolded and the guy wasnt going to tell me when he would kick me off the cliff. All very thrilling.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Great food and company are one of the two things best put together, I love to cook and good food is what I can share with you all, l would love to exchange recipes and learn from those willing to share their culinary secrets! I enjoy cooking south east asian dishes leaning towards savoury and spicy flavours, having lived in New Zealand for the last 10 years I come to love my bacon and pies too. There's always advice on your dental health I could offer but I tend to not bring my instruments with me so treatment is only limited to lip service :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belgium, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Colombia, Dominica, Fiji, France, Germany, Guinea, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Panama, Saint Lucia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, United Arab Emirates, United States, Vanuatu, Viet Nam
