ABOUT ME

I grew up in Shanghai, China and I moved to the States after I met my husband through couchsurfing. Zimin is my Chinese name and you can call me Emilie if you don't feel comfortable trying out my Chinese name. That's ok because my husband still can't pronouce my Chinese name properly after being married for more than 4 years.

I love living in a big city like Shanghai and Chicago where there is so much culture diversity. But I also get impatient to get back to nature, camping in the woods and staring at stars.

I love travelling. I love meeting people who make me restless about the big world out there I need to go out to.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started during my first trip to the US back in 2008

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed in the States and Australia when I was travelling by myself. I met my husband through couchsurfing. My husband and I have also hosted quite a few times.

National Geographic and Smithonia are my bedtime reading. A best seller is my passtime on my Metra train commute to work. I always check the rating of a popular work because I don't like to leave open books unfinished and I hate bad writing.
