About Me
Zita, from Berlin, studying in Weimar.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing of course is great for meeting new peple at there places and getting to know a new place with a local. I love this idea of mutual trust and sharing without asking for a monetary price, which usually determines almost every part of our society nowadays
But I also really like it because it is also good for the city. Many cities in Europe, but also worldwide, are getting more and expensive, especially the flats and buildings in the centre. If we build more and more hotels and people rent out whole appartments like on airBNB this is a problem. Especially in touristy interessting cities a huge amount of space and flats is taken and used for tourism, where you can make a lot of money with. In the counsequence, people with less money have to leave, more outside to the city. As tourists who use couchsurfing we go to privat homes, there is no extra space needed. If more people would do this we could prevent those developments and help the cities to stay a place for all people.
