I am blessed to be a mother to four fantastic kids. I am an artist, an athlete, a musician, a baker, a believer, a writer, an explorer, a scholar and just about anything else that takes my fancy or captures my heart.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been hosted a couple of times and hosted twice as well. Each experience has been unique and I'm grateful for the opportunities.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've appreciated all of my interactions, but my first was probably my most amazing. My host and I ended up, quite unexpectedly, spending most of our time together, involved in each other's plans, during the near week that I stayed. We were quite sympatico, if differing in opinion, and it just kinda flowed : )

Interessen

Lol. I think I am probably interested in just about everything. I think there is always something new and interesting to learn or experience. I've dipped my toes or been a professional with several different art forms. I love athletics of any kind, though trail running, soccer and rowing are my favorites. I am currently taking medical courses toward an EMT. I love learning languages and about new cultures, especially the food. Yes, the food. lol.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

There is a spot at Silver Falls in Oregon . . . a small fall you must hike to, but can wade through the water. It is a small clearing surrounded on 3 sides by steep rock decending to the fourth side, which is small rocks interspersed with small boulders and trees. No matter what time of year, there is always sun shining just so on the falls and the world stops here. It is my place. I used to come often when I was young, then I grew up and moved away. I knew I was home once again when I set foot in this spot.
Another was the constant diversity and challenging of American notions I encountered when on my mission trip to the Capetown side of South Africa. School days are shorter, giving families time to enjoy one another. The end of the apartide in this part of the country has brought acceptance and love and forgiveness. Palm trees grew next to pine trees in an area surrounded by vinyards. We were welcomed by so many baboons! There are inequalities and hurts still existing, but with such evidently valiant effort and open heart I have no doubt they will, much sooner than here, be a part of the past.
THE BIRTH OF MY CHILDREN!!! There is no more awe inspiring moment than those.
