About Me

I have two big dreams right now: to travel to every country on Earth, and to become an astronaut!I love to connect with people along the way, as I'm an extrovert, and I make it my mission to learn as much as I can everywhere I go!

I have an interest in just about anything, as my graduate school was in aerospace engineering, my undergrad was in mechanical engineering, with minors in astrophysics, and philosophy, and I am a libertarian, Christian, artist/poet, and demiromantic! (And I often go overboard on the things I love, even taking leadership positions in too many things at once!)

I grew up in Cincinnati, and as I didn't get to travel as a kid, meeting internationals through high school, the Univ. of Cincinnati (UC), and CU Boulder has encouraged my passion for learning about international cultures and travel. I was fortunate enough to be able to live aboard in both China and Japan through UC's JCI and international co-op programs.

Some international groups I've been involved with in Cincinnati include UC International, UC World Friends, and Worldfest Week. In Boulder, I was able to be a part of the International Festival as well, but I also spearheaded social events at the International Crossroads house. One day I hope to know at least one person from every country!

I love to cosplay and have an eye for design as well, I love anything colorful and can give advice on those areas! We can also play either board games or Nintendo video games together!

CouchSurfing will help me both meet both friends & colleagues and hopefully help others gain the same!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I absolutely love travel, and I know the best parts of it are meeting locals, and making friends everywhere you go. I have many friends from all over the world from my university and past travels/international co-ops, and I want to expand that even more!

I have a passion for exploration, whether it be on this Earth or beyond. I believe in squeezing every little bit out of life that you can, and CouchSurfing helps one do that!

Music, Movies, and Books

Some fantasy universes I love are Doctor Who, Steven Universe, Pokemon, Wonder Woman, Deadpool, and classic Nintendo, especially Mario and Zelda, as well as Splatoon and some independent video games like Celeste and Hollow Knight!

I love all sorts of manga, especially "Full Metal Alchemist", "Inuyasha", and "Pandora Hearts". I love anime as well, from "Boku No Hero", 'Hunter x Hunter', '"Your Lie in April",

Some books I enjoyed were "Seraphina", the "Harry Potter" series, any sort of fantasy book, the "Maximum Ride" series by James Patterson, any sort of mythology or mythology spin-off including all of the many series by Rick Riordan, the Song of Achilles, and the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe series!

I love the books "Sophie's World", as it got me interested in philosophy, and "Atlas Shrugged" as it pushed me more towards libertarianism.

I listen to a wide variety of music from independent music, classic rock and roll (Aerosmith, anyone?), pop music, country music, French rap (Black M and Maitre Gims are great!), Christian music/Christian rock, alternative (like the 1975 and 21 Pilots), classical music to unwind, and more. I rarely find music that I don't like (except Screamo/hard metal... it gives me a headache!) Please introduce me to your favorite band or artist, I'd love to try something new!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I taught at Chong Qing University as a Teaching Assistant through their JCI program (Joint Co op Institute) with the University of Cincinnati (my university!) Even though I didn't know Chinese, I survived and thrived in my first experience abroad!

While over there, I climbed two mountains, visited 6 cities, the panda reserve, and learned how to be illiterate and still survive! ;P

I also climbed Mt. Fuji during a typhoon after my internship in Japan, I can describe more when we meet!

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been in many leadership positions and had many opportunities to connect with others, and I've realized that the more you listen, the more you learn, not the other way!

So now as I go to meet people, I love to share my past experiences, but I also want to avoid making the conversation entirely about me. If I'm in your home, it's mostly about you! This is your home, what do you think of it? What memories do you have?

If you're in my home, it's still about you! What brought you to Colorado? What do you do for work? (We can have many of these conversations over a board game or competitive video game on the Switch as well!)

Although I will talk about myself if you're interested, I know the best way to foster a friendship is to learn more about the other person, as everyone has an interesting and unique story to share!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Due to my varied interests, and social habits, I have a very unique outlook on things I haven't found from anyone else. A more classical education has provided me with the opportunity for so many wonderful conversations and enlightening moments in my life, and I hope to pass that on to you.

In terms of helping hosts directly, I may be able to give some of my smaller artwork as presents, bring something from my area, or cook for them in the 'fusion' style of cooking I've adopted for myself!

I'm also down to play board games or video games, join them in a hobby, or visit a favorite place or new place with hosts!
