Party in Brazil
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I had the warmest welcome to couchsurfing possible when I visited Austin, Texas and stayed with a very rad host. I really believe that couchsurfing is the best way to travel and to meet great people.
Swimming in lakes, riding bicycles, hearing new jokes, hearing new stories, learning new things.
Global health, history, ecology, geography, language, communication and storytelling. What happens when you dream.
Music, Movies, and Books
The Big Lebowski, Wes Anderson films, Annie Hall, The Shining, Barbarella, Almost Famous, Chung King Express, Twin Peaks, Star Wars, Arrested Development, The Simpsons.
I like funky songs, dancy songs, ambient songs, live music, reggae. A few favourites: Marvin Gaye, Billy Holiday, Toots and the Maytails, Broken Social Scene, Arthur Russel, Yo La Tengo, Pixies, Weezer, Pavement, Feist, Beck, Bonobo, Erykah Badu, J Dilla, LCD Soundsystem, Nicolas Jaar, Grimes, Atlas Sound, Deerhunter, Bon Iver, Molly Nilsson, Aphex Twin, The Strokes
J.D. Salinger, F. Scott Fitzgerald, David Sedaris, Haruki Murakami
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've met a telepathic fish.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a bio-nerd and love facts about life. I can tell you about the cells that make things happen when the scrape on your knee heals (go platlets!) or why the sky is blue. I can also teach you how to count to ten in Luganda, the secret to stopping hiccups, how to knit, sew, swim, ride a bicycle and make pad thai.
I'm looking to practice Portuguese while living in Brazil.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a good cook and full of jokes that are so bad (that I think) they're good
