The old CS version used to asked me what is my mission. Indeed a great question. How many of us live with intention, with a clear mission to achieve?
I wished to travel the world & to be a kind nomad photo-reporter, to learn from people, to enrich my self, to be free. In the last 7 seven years I never had a house for more than 3 months - traveling, moving, changing, loving, breathing, meditating, writing and photographing the colors and differences of life in this planet.
Today I just wish to be pure and true, and to make an impact with my work. I am sick of the market fundamentalism of the contemporary world, and I believe globalization can be a positive force for creating bridges and understanding - not to exacerbate inequalities and turning nature into shopping malls.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Honestly, I really don't know how my life could have been without CS. I have been in so many people's houses & in each one of them I found a world in its own, a brilliant fragment of the wholeness of life, from Africa to China, all the way through Europe and the Middle East.
CS is the beginning of the gift-economy philosophy, the idea that we can prosper and be happy while sharing and giving, instead of being selfish and greedy. So when I temporary "own" a place to host I offered it, and when I am surfing I try to share with people my stories and my enthusiasm, and maybe help someone bring down some of the walls which prevent them to see a shining life landscape.
I am interested in human life. Culture, traditions, languages, rituals. I have a fascination for the ancient cultures that spring from the Middle East. I am really interested in all kind of mysticism, from yogis to sufis, buddhist and shamanic practices to feel the eternal self, the unity the everything, the all-pervasive consciousness, the capacity to master the matter with the mind.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I embarked in two adventurous overland journeys to inspire people in traveling in harmony with the nature and reduce their carbon footprint by avoiding flying, meat consumption and plastic usage. The first one has been an overland hitchhiking no-money journey from the Netherlands to Brazil, using only sustainable energy and crossing the ocean with a sailing boat. The second one has been an overland adventure from Italy to Nepal through the Middle East, reporting people’s life from all the countries I have been traveling in.
