About Me

Hello! My name is Zoltán, I live in Oradea, Romania and I love meeting new people and I also love travelling (on a budget :p). I'm a High School student and I love partying, photography, hiking, cycling, programming, music, history, mycology, astronomy to name a few. I would like to complete my education abroad (somewhere west of Romania).
I like the outdoors, I like the remoteness of the Carpathian Mountains of Romania, the tranquility and the beauty of mother nature.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My city doesn't get a lot of foreign tourists, but whenever I find a few I always try to make friends with them. I love meeting foreigners in my hometown, and I also love travelling. I have a few friends who have had great experiences with Couchsurfing, so I decided to also join.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like rock music ( The Beatles, Metallica, Tool, System Of A Down) and I also like rap (Kendrick Lamar, Notorious B.I.G).
I love a lot of movies, but if I had to choose a favourite it would be Requiem for a Dream or Taxi Driver.
I don't read very often, but my favorites so far have been The Stranger by Albert Camus, Notes from the Underground by Fyodor Dostoevsky and The Silmarillion by J.R.R Tolkien.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recently, me and one of my friends, have completed a historical paper about the Holocaust in our hometown. We wrote it as a part of a competition, and we have won a significant prize. We conducted interviews with survivors, visited national archives etc. Overall we are very proud of our work!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share the local culture, history, world views etc.. I think it is very important for a traveler to understand the locals, their way of thinking and their history. I can also show you the landmarks of the city, the museums and of course the bars.
I can share my hospitality of course, I can show you the local drinks and foods.
