About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see more of the world before commiting to a middle-class boring life

ABOUT ME

I'm a bossy, bitchy girl who has found herself slipping more and more into respectability. I swear, it was all an accident. First I got married, now we're looking at buying a house. How did it get this far? Anyway, I'm looking to travel a bit this summer and I hope it's a good cure for my increasingly ordinary life. As of Fall 2007 I will be a published author, and I'm hoping the book has a wide national audience. If it does, I may need a bit o' couch surfing to help promote it. In the nearer future, I'm looking to stay with someone in NYC to give my sister the trip of a lifetime.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in taking risks and living life the way it makes sense to you in the present. I've lived so many different ways, and by so many different philosophies, that now I just go with the flow of my own life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've done couchsurfing on an informal basis before (hah!). I'm hoping this site is friendly and safe.

Music, Movies, and Books

Philip K. Dick books (before and after the crazy), The God Particle by Leon Lederman, Galapagos by Kurt Vonnegut, and a lot more -- mostly books. Ask me!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I watched the sky rain down seafoam onto Seaside, Florida, the town where they shot The Truman Show. The seafoam came down like snow, piling into drifts 20 feet high, splattering the car, just after the hurricane -- we were not even supposed to be driving. But we did. The next day, the salt in the foam killed everything it had touched, but for that one moment, it was beautiful beyond compare.

Teach, Learn, Share

Want to know how to get published? To write a blog that gets mentioned on every major media source? Those things I know. I can also cook a mean meal. I am going back to school to become a teacher, so pedagogical things are always fun to learn!
