We are a family of three: Mama Manuela, Papa Lahcen and little Anir-Gabriel.
Mama Manuela, born in Canada from German and Brazilian immigrant parents, is currently a stay-at-home mom after many years working in community organizations, making videos and living abroad in Morroco. Papa Lahcen, a Berber from Morocco, has decided that after 14 years as a high school teacher, he needed a career change and now works in a community organization helping youthes and children in Montreal. As for Anir-Gabriel, he was born in 2013 is full of life and is already a well seasoned traveler!
We have many interests (see my interests) but one thing our family loves is art: Lahcen paints, Anir and Manuela draw. We also love music: Lahcen plays guitar and drums, Manuela and Anir sing. We also love to danse most of the time together :)
As parents we practice attachement parenting (co-sleeping, baby wearing, etc.), positive discipline (no physical or psychological violence) and we also practice extended breastfeeding. We do not expect other families or guests to be the same but we need poeple to respect our values so a non judgemental attitude is a must.
As humans we are all very friendly and outgoing people and that is why we look to meet the same type of people on couchsurfing. So if you are laid back, open-minded and have a positive attitude, you have found the right friends to visit!
respect the planet, respect one another, respect ourselves, communicate, share, love, have compassion, be creative, learn from the hard times, have faith in life, cherish the little things

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By being who we are!
We love couchsurfing values and we've been hosted by some really great people. We enjoy participating in defirent groups and meeting other couchsurfers when we travel. We also really enjoy seeing peoples homes and understanding how they live. We are always touched by peoples openness and generosity, two things that we value a lot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing this that Anir-Gabriel has done is travel to three continents and many planes, trains, buses all before the age of 2. He is now learning to master language and singing Happy Birthday :)
One amazing thing Manuela has done is teach herself how to make a documentary film with almost no budget. This experience helped her grow as a person and discover that anything is possible when you put your mind to it. She traveled to three countries: Brazil, Argentina and Mali. She also interviewed some amazing people like Riccardo Petrella, Maude Barlow, Mama Coulibaly to just mention a few. The documentary was about the World Social Forum and it helped her get in touch with people from around the world that are involved in all kinds of social or environmental projects , big or small, that improves peoples and the planets everyday life. One amazing thing that Lahcen did is start a cultural and social orgnization in his village. This organization was able to give free health care workshops to the woemn as well as help them to learn to read and write. Another thing that was acheived was the promotion of the berber culture, language and history! The whole village ended up getting involved and having a great experience. Amazing what people can when they work together!
