About Me

About me... There is actually two of us :) Me and my husband Cody.

Few years ago we exchanged sunny California for Slovakia where we now reside.

We are both professionals, Cody works as data scientist and I do project management for webdesign company.

We both love to travel. During college years I backpacked and hitch-hiked around Europe and Cody took a boat trip around the world and went to numerous destinations around Europe, South Africa, Australia for work and education.

We love food, eating it and cooking it (and we believe we do it pretty well too), outdoors, nothing extreme but generally we like to do stuff out like hiking & camping, music - we both play a little and listen more (especially Cody), movies, photography, exercising (we did martial arts and yoga lately), we enjoy sightseeing, stimulating discussions, humor, tea, coffee (Cody only:)), crafts and random arts for fun, helping people. We love traveling and exploring and just generally trying new things.

We are somewhat on the quieter side, not a big party people but always up to enjoy nice and fun company.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined in 2006 because as a college kid I didn't have many resources and frankly until I was 22 years old I barely left my country (it is really small country and very hard to not accidentally cross the borders:)). However in college I was introduces to hitch hiking and Couchsurfing and it suddenly opened the world for me. Now only it gave me a chance to travel on budget but I also met many amazing people whom lot became a life long friends. CS brought me out and gave me opportunities that were beyond my imagination when I was young.

Nowadays, I still enjoy stay with couchsurfers, especially during more 'adventurous' travels. We enjoy meeting locals and learning about life & culture at the place from the first hand. Plus we love meeting fun and interesting people.

We also hosted a bunch when we lived in California and it was always fun to have people around and quite nice feeling when you get to help somebody, whether they needed place to stay during their travels, or studies in nearby university.

Interests

We love to stay active as well as relax. Balance is important. I like photography & Photoshopping, playing guitar, singing and as a couple we enjoy traveling, cooking, eating and then eating some more, reading, deep discussions, meeting new people, snowboarding, boogie boarding, science, board games - especially Settlers of Catan, playing ball games, martial arts, yoga, Friday`s movie nights, crafts, spending time with family and friends, and always discovering new hobbies :)
