Overview
About Me
Originally from the beautiful Borneo Island (Sarawak) and now living in Kuala Lumpur, I’m a proud indigenous people from the Sea Dayak community. So if we ever happen to meet, then you're lucky to meet one of indigenous people from Malaysia ✌🏽 (just to be clear, I'm not Malay haha).
You can call me Zul (pronounced Zeul) or my “famous” nickname among close friends, Wudek.
If you are ever in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor or Sarawak, hit me up. I’m always happy to meet fellow travellers, swap stories and maybe take you on a mini food or hiking adventure.
I’m passionate about sports, learning new things, and hunting down the best local eats (Nasi Lemak, Laksa Sarawak, Mee Kolok… and yes, durian, love it or fear it). I also enjoy throwing myself into adventures that sometimes make me question my life choices, but hey… that’s part of the fun 😄
👉 Before sending a stay request, please read the Home section above and tell me why you would like to stay, it really helps me say yes with confidence (you can check Mi Casa photo album).
👉 If you’re just looking to hang out, let me know! I’m always happy to bring you to hidden local food spots in KL that don’t show up on Instagram (yet).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m here to travel the world, make real connections, swap cultures, share laughs and maybe learn a few life skills (like how to cook without burning the kitchen).
I’m adventurous, carefree and outgoing. I love saying yes to new challenges, chasing adrenaline and collecting stories that are just embarrassing enough to tell over dinner.
If you like good vibes, bad jokes and spontaneous adventures, we will probably get along.

Music, Movies, and Books
🎵 Music
If it’s got a good beat, I’m in. Rock, Pop, EDM, RnB, Hip Hop, Country, Trance, House, Eurodance, Arabic, Chinese, K-Pop, J-Pop, Malay, Afrobeats… basically, if Shazam can find it, I will probably like it.
Oh, and yes, I’m that person who watch and listens to Eurovision Song Contest songs all year round 😂.
🎬 Movies
I’m a die-hard Marvel and DC fan, from Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Justice League, you name it.
I live for horror movies: psychological, supernatural, slasher, thriller, suspense… I love them all (and yes, I still scream at jump scares).
Action movies? Absolutely yes, I'm definitely watch any action movies. Comedy movies? White Chicks is a cinematic masterpiece and I will fight anyone who says otherwise.
📚 Books
I’m not the “curl up by the fireplace with a 500-page novel” type… but I do read, just in my own way.
Articles, travel blogs, random Wikipedia rabbit holes, subtitles on foreign shows, memes… if it’s got words, I would have probably read it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Tried doing one day per country across 14 cities in 12 European countries… in just 2 weeks. Sounds crazy? Trust me, it is. Tiring? Absolutely. Worth it? 100%! 😂
Also, went hiking 3 days in a row to 3 different hills/mountains in Taipei… and then ran a half marathon on the same day as one of those hikes. Yes, I’m fully aware this is basically self-inflicted torture and yes, I would probably do it again.
2024 was wild. I completed my volunteer duty at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, then went on an epic solo trip, 14 cities in 12 countries across Europe in just 2 weeks (except Paris, where I stayed for 3 weeks because… pain au chocolate).
I Most recently, I volunteered at the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 2025 🇯🇵 volunteering, long days, and casually bumping into athletics legends like it was normal (it wasn’t 😍).
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach:
I can share my knowledge of sports, adventurous activities and how to survive long-haul travel without losing your sanity. I got plenty of insider tips for hiking trails, nature escapes, iconic landmarks and mouth-watering local food in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Sarawak.
I can also teach you some local languages as I speak 5 (Malay, Mandarin Chinese, English, Iban and Melanau), so you might leave knowing how to order food and insult someone politely in multiple tongues. Don't be shy to ask me.
Learn:
Anything and everything from your local slang to your secret family recipes. If it’s weird, fun or delicious, I’m in.
Share:
Stories, laughs, snacks, playlists, random life lessons and maybe a little too much honesty. I have lived my life solo so far and I’m proud of it, so don’t be afraid to be real with me. Vulnerability is welcome here.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A friendly face, a fun attitude and way too many travel stories. I love building real connections, swapping cultures, sharing knowledge, trading languages and exchanging life experiences. And who knows… you might even get lucky and score a souvenir from me 🎁
