ABOUT ME

Currently on a project to photograph stories from around the world. At this moment, I am in Ireland. In the beginning of September I will be in the UK, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland.

About Project Can I Take Ur Photo
I stand on a city street holding up a cardboard sign that reads “Can I Take Ur Photo?” Many walk by, some smiling, most frowning but few stop and ask, “What is this?”

“I go around the world taking photos of people,” I say, then ask, “Can I Take Ur Photo?” Those special few then become models for my global photo shoot of people around the world.

Last year I did a short-lived project called “I’m Not Begging.” (http://projectzh.com/?p=1062) It was an attempt to earn some allowance to travel. It received a lot of praise from fellow travelers and many gave great donations. Regardless, the project was not yet satisfying for my ambitious soul.

The interaction with people on the street from all parts of the world was, however, very appealing. From words of encouragement to personal stories to even inquiries for advice these were the great things that actually fueled my travels. That had even larger value than 10 euros to help me travel. After speaking with many about my project, and thanks to some great advice from my friends, I scraped the original project of “money” and simply made it into this new concept called “Can I Take Ur Photo?”

With the new project always in the back of my head, I was always anticipating a new “start.” Then, in the streets of Krakow, Poland, I discovered a cardboard box, wrote “Can I Take Ur Photo?,” and stood there, waiting for the first model for my global photoshoot.

About Me and My Travels
I used to work in marketing for a global company. I wanted to get out and experience how the world works rather than "see" how it works behind a computer monitor. So I started my first journey in Paris, France and am going from town to town to experience how things actually work. Now I'm involved in interesting projects like Project Can I Take Ur Photo. If you're reading my profile, send me a message and I'll come over and take photos of your story.

Born in South Korea and raised in the USA I've experienced and seen lots of both countries. But I still want to explore and see what's out there. After all, the world's a much bigger place than I expect it to be.

As for me, I'm a fun loving person and can probably converse with you on a lot of topics. I have lots of stories to tell and I probably could go on for hours but I am a better listener. I really enjoy listening to other people's perspectives and see how they think about the world.
