I'm a Polish girl living in Canada. I moved there with one suitcase over 5 years ago with a plan to come back after 2 years. I guess planning is not what I'm best at :D
ahhhh it is so hard to write about yourself!! I wish my friends could do it for me. They'd probably say I'm easy-going, smiling all the time and also - a little crazy (in a good way ;) ).
I love to travel, see new places and meet new people. In the end it doesn't matter where you are - it matters who you're with.
I wish people were more open to each other, more tolerant and also more optimistic.
Wine/coffee+good food+great company + a country I've never been to before= Happiness at its finest for me :)
Everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.
Tolerance, respect and empathy are the three things I consider very important while meeting new people. Do whatever you want, be whoever you want, unless you're not hurting anyone, NOBODY has the right to judge you.
It is probably easier for me to list the things I am NOT interested in:
I'm not interested in negative people. If you want to sit and complain ALL THE TIME, I will give you positive advice a few times and if you dot take it, I will not put too much effort into maintaining our friendship.
I'm not interested if you want to tell me that it is only your religion (or ANY religion) that creates good people, that you are against any 'race', that you are against homosexual marriages and families, when you think in vitro is against god's will, when you think you are better than someone else because of your country of origin, education, place you live in, and/or size of your wallet. I will still respect you as a human being but after the first encounter-I don't think we will see each other ever again.
- international relations
- political science
- public policy
- social science
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies - comedies, comedies and once again comedies!!! No horrors - EVER!
Music - I listen to every kind of music, if I feel like it. I can go from Metallica to Chopin and on to Britney Spears in one minute :D
Books - The latest books I loved and could't stop talking about are "An Imperfect Offering: Humanitarian Action in the 21st Century" by J. Orbinsky and "Sex at Dawn" by C. Ryan & C. Jetha.
*Books I will never forget: "Weronica decides to die" by Coehlo, "The Diary of Dawid Rubinowicz", "The Little Prince"(obviously), "Medallions" by Z. Nałkowska and one which I think everyone should read at least once in their life - "Oscar and the Lady in Pink" by Eric-Emamanuel Schmitt.
Poems by Wisława Szymborska - absolutely love them.
oh, and "Assume Nothing" by Rebecca Swan
ohhh - almost forgot my favourite one "Breakfast at Tiffany's"!!!! :D
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Moved across the world from Poland to Canada with one suitcase in my hand. After five years of struggling with complicated immigration processes, I've recently received my Permanent Residence Status !

If you are ever in pain or a very difficult situation, you have to know, that it WILL pass. FOR SURE. No questions asked.
When it seems that something is to much to take, don't give up, because this is the moment after which the situation will turn around for the better.
Remember that the most beautiful rainbows come after the biggest storms.
And that life is wonderful. Period.
If you don't believe in miracles, perhaps you've forgotten - you are one.
Everyone in the world smiles in the same language. Smile often - it will make you and everyone around you feel better in an instant.
