About Me

CURRENT MISSION

conquer the local foods of the world. especially desserts. mmmm.

ABOUT ME

I'm a mothergoose and a worrywart. I'm inconsistent for the most part. A neat freak at times, and a slob at others. I always try to finish my food. And I make it a point to clean up after myself. I like being with people, but not for too long. I enjoy my solitude.

PHILOSOPHY

we create meaning out of random happenings.

love, and let love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i've met up with CSers in Mexico City and surfed the couch of a really awesome person in New York during my winter break in 2008. I'm back in Singapore right now, and excited to meet up with CSers who are coming here! :D

Music, Movies, and Books

My all time favorite band is Radiohead, but I also listen to most sorts of music, from asian pop/rock to jazz, ska, and classical music. Hip hop, dance and techno, on the other hand, are lost on me.

Books, I have a soft spot for Alice in Wonderland and The Little Prince, possibly because they are such beautifully illustrated nuggets of constant inspiration.

It's hard for me to list all the books and movies I like, just because I read so much and watch so many things. I have a preference for things that are subtle and make me think. I also like movies that zoom in on the little things in life, and explore the strange relationships that tie people together. Some of the authors I like include James Joyce, Virginia Woolf, T.S. Eliot, Beckett, Kundera, Natsume Soseki, Kenzaburo Oe, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy and Soren Kirkegaard, to name a few. I'm partial towards things that come between mid 19th Century and mid 20th Century.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can talk about most things, and be more than willing to listen to anything that I don't know enough to talk about.
I could teach you karma free cooking, and how to bake wholewheat bread. I could teach you the little I know about the guitar and the piano, art and music. I could teach you to stop, and just watch the world go by, and notice what's beautiful in the little things. I could teach you to defy gravity, every once in a while, as you're trudging on, carrying the heavy burdens of life. You could teach me too.
